Winter looks to enhance curls and waves
Evolve your customers’ natural curls and waves effortlessly from light summer looks to richer colours designed to glow through the winter.
Featuring the More Inside styling range, each one is designed to showcase how hair moves and breathes, enhancing the hair’s natural beauty.
Look 01: Curl sculpting
Well-defined curls are cut freestyle, respecting the natural fall of the hair then given a lift with rich colour that can be warm and proudly on show or cooler, sitting in the background and providing subtle shine.
Colour technique
Step 1: Section the hair with the Sculptoning technique, positioning the ponytail to determine the elevation and placement of the colour.
Step 2: Apply Formula A using the Davines Paddle for support and the Davines Colour Blending Brush for a seamless blend, then leave for 50 minutes.
Step 3: Without removing the ponytail, rinse, shampoo and towel dry before applying Formula B.
Step 4: After 20 minutes, add water to emulsify the formula and proceed to shampoo.
Step 5: If your client is looking for extra shine, suggest the Insta Glaze add-on service, applying Formula C all over, leave for 5-20 minutes then emulsify, rinse and condition.
Cutting technique
Step 1: Beginning at the front, work through the hair, sculpting the desired shape with a freehand cutting technique.
Step 2: As you cut, tease and move the hair constantly to understand the shape you are creating.
Step 3: Let the hair be your guide as you work, respecting the natural fall of the curl.
Styling technique
Step 1: Apply More Inside Curl Building Serum with your fingers, distributing it evenly through the hair and gently detangling as you go.
Step 2: Add a layer of More Inside Oil Non Oil, then diffuse until 100% dry, using your hands to enhance the natural texture.
Step 3: Wrap different size sections of the hair around small tongs to create a more relaxed and defined curl.
Step 4: Spray More Inside Shimmering Mist over all the hair from approx 30cm away to create maximum shine.

Look 02: 90s bob
Step back in time and embrace the 90s with the winged bob look, which combines softness and structure in equal measure. Colour is evenly distributed for an all over winter glow that comes to life as the hair moves.
Colour technique
Step 1: After shampooing and thoroughly towel drying the hair, divide it into the standard 6-section Davines Application.
Step 2: Apply Formula A all over, leave to develop for 20 minutes then emulsify with water, rinse, shampoo and condition.
Step 3: If your client is looking for extra shine, suggest the Insta Glaze add-on service, applying Formula B all over, leave for 5-20 minutes then emulsify, rinse and condition.
Cutting technique
Step 1: Start by cutting to the desired length using a vertical point cutting technique to create structure and softness in equal measure.
Step 2: Ensuring that the head is in a straight, neutral position, work up towards the crown area, repeating step 1 before following through to the sides.
Step 3: Use a razor to remove weight, feeling the areas which need reducing as you go.
Step 4: Repeat this on the second section of hair on both sides, always taking the time to check the balance through the cut.
Step 5: Finally, when hair is partially dried, check the weight, balance and suitability, refining as needed.
Styling technique
Step 1: Apply More Inside Volume Boosting Mousse to give light body and softness, using your fingers to encourage the natural movement of the hair.
Step 2: Diffuse the hair until it’s 100 % dry, again using your hand to enhance the natural texture.
Step 3: Further enhance the texture by applying More Inside Dry Wax Finishing Spray.

Look 03: Vibrant waves
This natural looking cut creates soft texture around the face and through the length of the hair, removing excess weight to allow waves to fall naturally. A two-tone colour approach, where roots and ends are treated separately, gives the look greater depth.
Colour technique
Step 1: Section the hair using the standard 4-section Davines Mask With Vibrachrom application.
Step 2: Using diagonal back sections, apply Formula A on the mid-lengths, avoiding the roots and ends.
Step 03: Now add Formula B to the root and end areas that haven’t had an application of Formula A, then leave to develop for up to 35 minutes.
Step 4: If your client is looking for extra shine, suggest the Insta Glaze add-on service, applying Formula C all over, leave for 5-20 minutes then emulsify, rinse and condition.
Cutting technique
Step 1: Start by sectioning the hair, creating a central parting. From the parting, take two curved diagonal sections to the back of the ear.
Step 2: Use a sliding cutting technique to create a soft texture around the face and through the length of the hair.
Step 3: Working in vertical sections, lift the hair and remove each corner.
Step 4: Point cut the front section, keeping scissors in a vertical position to remove weight through the perimeter.
Step 5: Using a razor and the horizontal razor technique, connect the front texture with the side and back of the hair.
Step 6: Work towards the perimeter to remove weight, cross-checking the balance to ensure layers fall evenly over all.
Styling technique
Step 1: Prep the hair by adding 5-20 pumps of More Inside Primer.
Step 2: Towel dry hair until it is 100% dry then spray More Inside Dry Texturizer from a distance of 10cm to increase texture.
Step 3: Use a curling iron to direct hair up and then down, creating the desired wave pattern.
Step 4: Complete the style by adding More Inside Shimmering Mist from a distance of 10cm to increase shine.
