TechnicalFeatures
Finest Pigments and Finest Gloss have been formulated using ingredients which are from 85% to 93% of natural origin, according to the Davines method* (with the old method used, the % of natural origin ingredient was from 95% to 98%). Finest Pigments have been formulated using natural pigments with powerful antioxidant abilities, which are able to enhance and maintain colour reflects and to protect the structure of the hair. The natural pigments used in our formulations are extracted from the following plants:
RATANNIA (botanical name: Krameria Triandra) originates from Peru, and is rich in tannins which enhance dark reflects. The tannins, contained in the berries, are able to slow down colour deterioration because they have a preserving ability; for this reason, they are antioxidant, protecting the hair and, as a result, the colour reflects.
GIESTA PLANT (botanical name: Sarothamnus Scoparius Koch) is rich in carotenoids and flavonoids, and when combined with Ratannia and Indian Walnut, is able to enhance dark reflects. This plant’s flowers, thanks to the presence of flavonoids, are important to give luminosity and shine to the hair and intensify darker reflects.
INDIAN WALNUT (botanical name: Juglans Regia L.) is endemic to Asia, it enhances dark reflects and is rich in tannins (contained in the leaves) and inositol (sugar) which has a moisturising effect. It has an antioxidant and protective effect on the hair, due to the high content of lipids.
LYCOPENE (botanical name: Lycopene) is an excellent red phytopigment extracted from tomatoes which belongs to the class of carotenoids. It has an extremely powerful antioxidant action, protecting the lipids contained in the hair from solar oxidation, furthermore, it regenerates the hydrolipidic barrier, thus preserving the natural function of the same hair lipids. It highlights the hair’s original colour, making it more intense and when combined with Ratannia (red), it enhances copper and red reflects.
GINGER (botanical name: Curcuma Longa) is a plant found in Asia (India, Pakistan, China and Malaysia): it is yellow in colour, due to the 5% of curcumin which it contains. Ginger has a strong antioxidant effect and the polysaccharides, of which it is rich, carry out a fundamental role for hair protection. Combined with saffron, it enhances golden reflects.
SAFFRON (botanical name: Crocus Sativus L.) originates from Turkey and is now cultivated in Spain and India. It has an intense and slightly bitter aroma. Its name derives from the Arab ‘‘zafran’’ which means ‘‘to be yellow’’. It’s used as a pigment due to its intense yellow colour, but, more importantly, is rich in terpenes and carotenoids which have a strong antioxidant action. It intensifies golden reflects.

Active Ingredients
Besides the pigments, other raw materials selected during the formulation of Finest Pigments and Finest Gloss are also of natural origin. From CELLULOSE are obtained conditioning agents and also the substance which gives Finest Pigments and Finest Gloss their consistency. Cellulose is a polysaccharide (natural polymer) made up of a vast number of glucose molecules tied one to the other. About half of the cell walls in a plant are made up of cellulose. Phytic acid, obtained from RICE BRAN is a natural chelator, that binds heavy metal ions (calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus), blocking them from altering the result of hair colour. This substance also has a fundamental role in the food sector because it limits the absorption of metallic ions which can be introduced bodily via our diet and which are not easily digested. From ROSE OIL is extracted a substance which has the scent of the plant from which it is taken. It has an extremely powerful glossing effect due to its high refraction index. The combination of all these raw materials make Finest Pigments and Finest Gloss Davines’ first direct colour system using ingredients which are up to 98% of natural origin.
Delicate & Reinforcing Colour for Extra Shiny Hair
An acidic pH semi-permanent colour line enriched with rose oil that has an extremely powerful glossing effect. With their strong antioxidant power, natural pigments enhance and preserve hair’s reflects and protect its structure.
Sustainable Packaging

Instructions
Finest Pigments nuances have been purposely formulated to work on various levels. The optimal level, indicated by a blue rectangle on the colour chart, represents which level the nuances has been formulated upon; whilst the other levels indicated represent the range within which the same nuance produces visible and appreciable results. For example, the ash/grey nuance gives brilliance and camouflage to hair containing a low percentage of white hair. Furthermore, the ash/grey nuance gives a cool reflect result on bleached and highlighted hair.
On bleached hair, the three intense nuances (copper, red and mahogany) intensify further and give powerful, creative results. While on natural or cosmetically coloured hair, they give beautiful and vibrant reflects.
